home with individual respondents, males and females aged 15 years and above, of
all socio-economic segments. The total sample for this survey consists of (n=5880) interviews. Fieldwork was
spread over two periods between 13th Sep. 2003 – 24th
Oct.2003 and 6th Dec.2003 – 19th Dec. 2003. The survey includes a disproportionate sample of
(n=998) affluent homes: this provides an insight into the viewing patterns of
the upper income segment of the population within a larger robust sample than
would otherwise be obtained from a standard sample that would represent the
standard socio-economic structure of the population. The study covers
all local TV channels, Pan Arab satellite channels and global satellite
stations: the large size of the sample enables detailed insights into the
viewing patterns of the different socio-economic segments of the population
with large robust sub-samples. Results have been weighted to represent the current adult
population structure in the Urban and Rural areas of Egypt. The results are analyzed in the form of statistical
tables by major socio-economic factors such as age, gender, family structure,
family income, occupation, area and other variables, and by day of the week. Fully processed data is available in statistical tabulations
hosted in the PARC Index Software.
Media exposure data and TV audience ratings are analyzed by
socio-economic profiles. All data elements are accessible and can be used for
Media Planning. ·
